Video Intro
Overview
The Photon Video SDK enables live video streaming and screen sharing in your applications across a large number of platforms. It is an extended version of the Photon Voice SDK, and inherits all of its features, including audio transmission and session management (matchmaking).
Clients join a session (known as rooms) and create an outgoing stream which all other clients in the room can receive. A local preview and incoming streams can be integrated into your UI or the 3D scene. As long as a device's image can be represented as a Texture, it's easy to stream it.
Photon Video can be used standalone or in combination with other Photon SDKs or third-party components. For Photon Fusion, the SDK provides integration modules.
The Video SDK supports a wide range of platforms and devices: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, Web, VR / AR / XR and smart glasses.
Bandwidth and Regions
The bandwidth available per video stream depends on the infrastructure you are using:
- Gaming: 1 Mbit/s
- Industries: 2 Mbit/s
